Spectacular video Mare Undarum by the telescope in 2012

Mare Undarum, located southeast of Mare Crisium, is close enough to the visible Moon to always be observed in the first half of lunation, except the first days, when detailed visual observation is impossible.

As Mare Marginis, Mare Undarum is irregular in shape, but is less in diameter, having about 200 km and an area of approximately 21.000 kilometers square. Notable features in the neighborhood are dark craters with flat floor like Firmicus (56 km), adjacent to the smallest lake on the Moon, Lacus Perseverantiae, or Lake of perseverance, just 70 km across.
In the video below, Mare Undarum, and all other forms of relief are seen in full sunlight. Because of this, no shadow starts from the edge of any crater or valley. Temperature of the Moon in such conditions, can reach 107 ° C.
From the mid of the video appears crater Langrenus (132 km.), all fully illuminated by the sun. Goclenius (72 km.) is similar to a ring on left of the clip.
